The first murder in history occurred in
Genesis Chapter 4 versus 1-26. With two brothers Cain and Abel who were
the sons of Adam and Eve. "Cain was a tiller of the earth", and "Abel
was a keeper of the sheep". Cain and Abel both made an offering of
sacrifice to the Lord. Cain's sacrifice was fruit from the earth, while
Abel's was the firstling of the flock. The Lord showed respect to Abel's
offering, but not to Cain's. When Cain and Abel went into the field,
"Cain rose up against his brother and slew him". When the Lord asked
Cain where is your brother, Cain replied, "Am I my brothers keeper"
(Holy Bible- New King James Version). In today's society, the same
jealous actions are still occurring, but it much easier to kill your
brother. Instead of bashing his head in with a rock, one can just simply
shoot him with a gun. |
